How It Happened

* Abington took advantage of a costly error by the Griffins in the top half of the third inning that led to two runs to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead. Juniors Cory DiMario and Paul Figueroa scored on the play.

* The Griffins cut the lead in half in the bottom of the fourth when AJ Johnson scored on a wild pitch after reaching base with a one-out triple.

* Gwynedd Mercy grabbed its first lead of the game in the bottom of the sixth after scoring two runs to make the score 3-2.  The Griffins added two more runs in the seventh when Jimmy DeCarlo drew a bases loaded walk.  Ricky Templeton then grounded into a double play which pushed across another run to increase the Griffins lead to 5-2.

* Abington scored a run in the eighth when redshirt junior Garratt Garofalo drove in sophomore Donato Incollingo to make the score 5-3.  However, the Griffins answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to return the game to a three-run margin.

* The Griffins' Michael Inglisa made the ninth inning uneventful as he registered his third save of the season after pitching two scoreless innings of relief.
