Athletics Announces Creation of Hall of Fame; Calls for Nominations for Inaugural Class

Abington, Pa. – Penn State Abington Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation, Erin Foley, has announced the creation of an Athletics Hall of Fame, an initiative to honor and recognize achievements of former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and contributors to the University's athletics programs from the early days of Penn State Ogontz to the current NCAA Division III era.

"It's important we look back and recognize those who have helped pave the way for Penn State Abington Athletics," said Foley.  "The creation of the Athletics Hall of Fame helps accomplish that as we look to honor our past, celebrate our present and look forward to our future.  Our history dates back six decades from when we were Penn State Ogontz to our present day as Penn State Abington. I encourage all alumni to take the time to nominate worthy candidates for our inaugural class."

Abington athletics is now accepting nominations for the inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Class, which will be announced during the University's 75th Anniversary celebration on Saturday, Oct. 11.  The class will be officially enshrined during an induction ceremony at a date still to be determined in the spring of 2026.  Nominations will be open through Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.

Once the nomination period has closed, the Hall of Fame selection committee will deliberate to select the inaugural Hall of Fame class.
