Abington Falls to Lycoming in Non-Conference Tilt

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped a non-conference contest against Lycoming College by the score of 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How It Happened
 
* Abington trailed 2-0 after Lycoming scored two goals within the first 15 minutes of the game.  However, the Nittany Lions responded with goals in the 26th and 36th minutes to tie the game.  Abington's first goal was tallied by sophomore Meghan McGinly, while fellow freshman Kaitlyn Frank connected on a goal in the 36th minute to tie the game at 2-2.
 
* The game didn't stay tied long as the Warriors answered with back-to-back goals of their own.  In the 38th minute Lycoming received a score by Aubrey Williamson to take a 3-2 lead.  Minutes later Norah Mosley converted a penalty kick to double the lead at 4-2. 
 
* Lycoming held the Nittany Lion offense to just three shots in the second half.  The Warriors maintained their two-goal lead throughout the second half.  Lycoming tacked on its fifth goal of the game in the 74th minute by Ella Magee.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Frank has now scored in three straight games and has tallied at least one point in her last four contests.  Her first half goal marked her third of the season and eighth of her career.
 
* McGinly also recorded her third goal of the season as she share's the team lead with Frank.  McGinly now has 13 goals in her career.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked just the second meeting between Abington and Lycoming.  The Warriors won last year's match-up at home in Williamsport, Pa.
 
Next Up
Abington is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 27 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Notre Dame of Maryland University in the United East Conference opener.  Game time is set for 12 p.m.
