Abington Sweeps Home Tri-Match; Defeats Keystone, DelVal

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team hosted Keystone College and Delaware Valley University in a tri-match on Saturday at the Abington Athletic Building.  The Nittany Lions defeated Keystone, 3-0, in the first United East Conference (UEC) match of the season and then went on to get the win against Delaware Valley by the score 3-1 in a non-conference match.

Inside the Box Score vs. Keystone
 
* Abington recorded 43 attacks and committed only nine errors throughout the match. 
 
* Junior Zayna Jamaladdin recorded a match-high 15 kills to go along with a.429 attack percentage.  Jamaladdin committed just three errors on 28 total attacks.
 
* Junior Kayla Mason finished with eight kills while recording zero errors on 10 attacks for a .800 attack percentage.  Mason also had four digs.
 
* Sophomore Ellie Van Otten totaled nine kills with just one error on 23 attacks.  Van Otten also had four digs and three aces.
 
* Freshman Maya Giles recorded eight kills; one shy of her season-high.
 
* Sophomore Fabiola Medina led the team with a match-high 20 digs to go along with three aces.
 
* Junior Ryenn Mamrosch totaled 19 assists, while sophomore Hailey Revak added 13 assists.
 
* For Keystone, Jamilah Higgins and Madison Woods each had five kills.
 
All-Time Series vs. Keystone
Today marked the fourth meeting between Abington and Keystone since the start of the 2012 season and the first since 2018.  The Nittany Lions are now 3-1 versus the Giants in the all-time series.
 
Inside the Box Score vs. Delaware Valley
 
* As a team, the Nittany Lions recorded 46 kills; two shy of the team's season-high.
 
* Junior Brynn Atkins totaled three blocks (1BS/2BA) and in the process moved into second place all-time with her 56th career solo block.  Atkins, who holds the program's record for most total blocks with 144, trails Andia Anderson (64) for the all-time leader in solo blocks.
 
* Jamaladdin led the team with 11 kills, while Van Otten added nine kills and five digs.
 
* Freshman Naomi Seymour recorded a season-high eight kills. 
 
* Giles recorded eight kills for the second time on the day.
 
* Mamrosch recorded a team-high 15 assists to go along with 13 digs.
 
* Medina led the team with 15 digs.
 
* For Delaware Valley, Monique Smith recorded a match-high 12 kills to go along with 12 digs.  Samantha Wilton added 11 kills, while Nia Walker finished with a match-high 28 digs.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the ninth meeting between Abington and Delaware Valley since the start of the 2014 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 5-4 versus the Aggies in the all-time series.

Abington returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Gallaudet University in United East action.  Match time is set for 7 p.m.
