How It Happened

* Abington nearly took the game's first lead in the 28th minute, but what would have been a goal by junior Frankie Rafferty was negated by an offsides call.  Less than five minutes later, Rafferty would get his goal.  His initial shot hit off the left post, but Rafferty recovered the rebounded ball and got a second shot off for the score as the Nittany Lions led 1-0 in the 32nd minute.

* Despite three shots in the final five minutes of the half, Salisbury was unable to find the equalizer as all three shots were off target.  Freshman goalkeeper Hector Ortiz faced just one shot on-goal in the first half by the Seagulls.

* Midway through the second half the Nittany Lions had opportunities to add to their lead denied by the Seagulls' Clif Nehman.  Nehman made saves on both sophomore Liame Attis' shot (67') and junior Amerr Yagoub's shot (68') to keep the deficit at one score.

* In the 73rd minute, the Seagulls tied the game with a penalty kick goal.  A foul by Abington inside the box gave Salisbury the PK attempt as David Brunetti converted the kick to tie the game at 1-1.

* Ortiz recorded four of his five saves in the second half, including a stop off a shot from Dale Gordon in the 86th minute that kept the tie intact.
