How It Happened

* Gwynedd Mercy struck first with a score in the 18th minute when Gunnar Christensen found the back of the net off a cross pass from Luke O'Donnell for the early lead.

* After the Griffins' goal, it was all Abington the rest of the way.  The Nittany Lions found the equalizing goal in the 23rd minute when senior Nick Lachawiec scored his first career goal.  Junior Amerr Yagoub started the play with a corner kick attempt, while freshman Shane Lachawiec tapped it to Nick for the score.

* Just over a minute later, junior Nico Anagnostopoulous scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal after firing a shot into the back of the net off a goalie save.  Sophomore Da'Vid Robinson's shot was stopped by Ethan Zimmerman but he couldn't recover in time to come up with a save on Anagnostopoulous' shot.

* The score remained 2-1 in favor of the Nittany Lions until the opening minute of the second half.  Abington wasted zero time adding to its lead as sophomore Aramis Shire connected on a score just :45 seconds into the new half.  Less than a minute later, the Nittany Lions scored another goal this time by senior Hugh Nungessor off a corner kick attempt by Yagoub.

* Later in the half, the Nittany Lions capped the scoring with goals in the 76th and 87th minutes. Sophomore Joe Mahon scored an unassisted goal and then freshman Quincy Wade finished the scoring with his first career goal with fellow freshman Lucas Silva registering his first career assist.
