How It Happened

* Lancaster Bible dominated the first set after opening with a 7-0 run that quickly became a 19-6 advantage.  The Chargers recorded 14 kills in the set on 20 attempts while committing zero attack errors. Lancaster Bible went on to take the opening set, 25-8.

* In the second set, the Nittany Lions kept pace with the Chargers and came within one point of tying the set after junior Maddie Welch recorded an ace to make the score 18-17.  The Chargers responded by scoring four of the next five points to increase the lead to 22-18 before taking the set, 25-21.

* Being down 2-0 in the match didn't deter the Nittany Lions as they opened the third set with an 11-2 run.  Abington took advantage of eight miscues by the Chargers in the run, while receiving service aces from junior Fabiola Medina and senior Ryenn Mamrosch. As the set progressed, the Chargers chipped away at the Abington lead and eventually tied the set at 20-20 after a kill by Eden Belford.  Errors by both teams over the set's next five points gave Abington a slim 23-22 lead.  Lancaster followed with back-to-back points to setup match-point but an attack error by the Chargers tied the match at 24-24. Lancaster Bible went on to take the set after a service error and kill by Chloe Belford for a 26-24 win.
