How It Happened

* Abington took all three doubles matches to grab the team point in doubles.  At first doubles, the team of Tymchenko and freshman Daniel Trott cruised to a 6-1 victory over Cole Sheihing and Cole Stoltzfus. Sophomore Vlad Borodaykevych and freshman Sanat Juneja found themselves trailing the Chargers' Cameron Tripp and Hemberth Pena 3-2 in their second doubles match.  However, the Abington duo won four of the next five points to win the match, 6-4.  The Nittany Lions won third doubles by forfeit.

* Abington started singles play ahead 2-0 in the match receiving another team point from sixth singles due to a Chargers' forfeit.  Tymchenko cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 victory at third singles over Tripp to give Abington its third team point.

* Trott clinched the match for Abington with his three-set victory over Stoltzfus at first singles.  Trott won the first set by the score of 6-4, but Stoltzfus got the win in the second set after winning the tie-break point, 7-3.  In the third and decisive set, Trott went up 2-0 but fell behind 4-2 after Stoltzfus scored four straight points.  Trott eventually tied the match at 4-4 but later trailed 6-5.  However, he held serve when trailing 6-5 to force the deciding tie-break.  Trott went up 4-2 and then 5-3 in the tie-break but Stoltzfus made it 5-4 to creep back into the match. Trott responded and won the next two points to win the tie-break points, 7-4, to clinch the win at first singles as well as the overall match.

* Sanat picked up the win at fourth singles after cruising to a 6-1 victory in the opening set.  He then took the second set by the score of 7-5 to defeat Pena.

* Freshman Kaan Ofluoglu earned the win at fifth singles with a straight sets victory over Patrick Grootboom.  Ofluoglu shutout Grootboom in the first set, 6-0, and took the second set by the score of 6-2.

* Lancaster Bible won its lone team point at second singles with Sheihing winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1.
