How It Happened

* Trailing 1-0 entering the third, the Abington offense came to life with a seven-inning frame.  Freshman John Busco jumpstarted the surge with a leadoff home run to tie the game at 1-1.  Later in the inning, freshman Jaxon Horvath doubled down the left field line that brought home two runners as Abington grabbed its first lead of the game at 3-1.  Junior Nathan Schurga also drove in two runs in the inning and later scored on DelVal fielding error.

* The score remained 7-1 until the fifth when the Nittany Lions added to their lead. Schurga drove in sophomore John Marcucci who led the inning off with a base hit as Abington increased its lead to 8-1.

* However, in the bottom of the fifth Delaware Valley pushed four runs across to chip away at the Abington lead to make it an 8-5 game. The inning ended with senior Benjamin Gagnon throwing out Lachlan Segedy at the plate trying to score from second on a single by Gavin Migliori.

* Abington added a run in the sixth and then picked up two more runs in the seventh to push away from the Aggies.  Senior Zach Bauers drove in the two runs to make the score 11-5.

* The Nittany Lions put things away with four runs in the ninth to increase the lead to 15-6 after the Aggies got a run in the eighth.  Junior Akira Nakamura drove in a pair of runs with a double to right-center field and then scored on a base hit by junior Donato Incollingo.  Horvath followed Incollingo's hit with a run scoring single to right field.
