Abington Falls to Knights in Non-Conference Match

Glenside, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team dropped a non-conference contest on the road against Arcadia University by the score of 7-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Weiss Courts.

How It Happened
 
* Sophomore Sanat Juneja and freshman Aaron Zheng picked up the win at second doubles for the Nittany Lions after defeating Arcadia's Luis Figueirdo and Jet Taylor by the score of 6-3.  The duo trailed 3-2 midway through the set but went on to win the next four games to take the match. 
 
* The Knights wound up earning the team point in doubles after picking up victories and first and third doubles.
 
* Sophomore Daniel Trott battled the Knights' Kevin McHale to a three-set first singles match.  Trott dropped the first set, 6-3, but bounced back with a 6-4 victory in set two to tie the match. In the tiebreak, Trott trailed 5-2 but was able to come within one point of tying the set at 5-4. However, McHale pulled away with the 10-5 win.
 
* Arcadia won the remaining singles matches in straight sets.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 10th meeting between Abington and Arcadia since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 7-3 versus the Knights in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 10 as the Nittany Lions travel to face Rutgers University – Camden in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 11 a.m.
