Kaminski Finishes 2nd at Aggie Open

Doylestown, Pa. – Penn State Abington sophomore Mason Kaminski finished second overall in the Aggie 5K Open as he helped lead the Nittany Lions to a third place team finish on Friday evening. Kaminski finished the 5K race in a time of 17:13.6.

Race Highlights

* Kaminski recorded his fourth career top-three finish with his second place showing. He finished in 17:13.6 and averaged 5:32.7 per mile. Only Alvernia University's Vincent Gregro (16:58.6) finished ahead of Kaminsi in the race.

* Sophomore Jackie Chen was the next Abington runner to finish as he finished in a time of 21:21.5. Chen finished 15^th overall.

* Junior Calvin Chen and senior William Lotoza finished back-to-back as the two completed the course in the top-20. Chen finished 17^th overall in 21:52.7, while Lotozo finished 18^th overall in 22:19.0.

* Sophomore Dan Kulb registered a time of 22:41.9 to finish 21^st overall.

* Other scorers for the Nittany Lions, include freshman Rayan Elamzali (25^th – 24:13.5) and Anthony Cicconetti (27^th – 24:33.9).

Abington returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Nittany Lions compete in the Philadelphia Cross Classic hosted by Thomas Jefferon University at Belmont Plateau. Race time is scheduled for 9:45 a.m.
