Abington Drops Home Opener to Eastern

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team dropped its home opener to Eastern University by the score of 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field.

How It Happened
 
* Molly Schellpeper scored two first half goals to give Eastern a 2-0 advantage.  Schellpeper's first goal came in the 18th minute and then later in the half tallied her second goal with less than 10 minutes to play until halftime.
 
*  Minutes later, the Eagles increased their lead to 3-0 when Saige Korpics scored her second goal of the season in the 39th minute.
 
* Eastern added two second half goals from Corrine Myers (58') and Emily Monforto (78')
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Senior Sara Hogan, sophomore Rylee Sundermeier and freshman Jada Rawls-Irizarry each had a shot for the Nittany Lions.

* Senior Kayla Kulp finished the game with nine saves.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the fifth meeting between Abington and Eastern since the start of the 2018 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 0-5-0 versus the Eagles in the all-time series. S
