Matt George enters his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Penn State Abington in 2021-22.
 
George arrives at Penn State Abington after coaching at Williamstown High School in Williamstown, NJ.
 
Some of George’s accolades include being named 2017 Jr. NBA Coach of the Year, which is awarded to a coach who makes a positive impact on student-athletes by demonstrating outstanding integrity, character, and leadership. In 2018 George was named the PCC Youth Coach of the Year and in 2019 was named the PCA Regional Double-Goal Coach of the Year. George is also a certified NIAAA Athletic Administrator and holds a USA Gold Basketball Coach license.
 
During the offseason, he serves as the head coach of the 16U East Coast Power AAU program, mentoring several college-bound athletes and is a speaker at The Philadelphia Coaches Conference, an event that brings coaches together for professional development and educational sessions.
 
George resides in Philadelphia with his wife, Melissa and three children Juanes, Emma and Matthew and is an Athletic Administrator/Physical Education teacher in Camden, NJ.
