Matthew Kittner enters his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Penn State Abington in 2017-18.

Kittner arrives at Penn State Abington after spending the previous seven seasons as the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Bogota High School in New Jersey. During his time at Bogota he was under the tutelage of head coach Jay Mahoney who has amassed 600+ wins and has the most wins of active head coaches in Bergen County in New Jersey.
 
He served as the Director of Basketball Operations for Fastbreak Sports in New York City from 2015 to 2017. Kittner created an educational basketball curriculum and directed coaches on proper execution of the plan. He was the lead instructor through classes, camps, and individual/group based training. During his time with the company he also coached multiple AAU teams.
 
Kittner was a two-year starter in college at Fairleigh Dickinson University Florham where he received a bachelor’s in political science.  He also attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law.
 
Originally from Bogota, NJ, Kittner now resides in Glenside, PA and is a teacher within the Charter Schools of the School District of Philadelphia. His mother, Lois, received her master’s degree from Penn State University.
