HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's soccer team traveled to the Pennsylvania State capital Wednesday night to square off against Penn State Harrisburg. Unfortunately, Abington came up short falling to Harrisburg 2-0.
Abington struggled to find any momentum throughout the first 45 minutes of play Wednesday night. They were outshot 5-0 by Harrisburg in the first half. Tired legs from the double overtime game the night before could have played a factor as to why Abington was sluggish. Neither team would register a goal in the first half.
Harrisburg would take the 1-0 lead in the 50
th minute thank to Chase Vilga's breakaway goal. A little under twenty minutes later, Harrisburg would put Abington away for good courtesy of Malik Cameron's second goal of the season. Issac Amedza drew an assist on the goal.
Abington was outshot 13-1 for the game, and they failed to register a single shot on target for the entire match.
Dan Saint-Pol (Perkasie, Pa.) made four saves for Abington.
With the loss, Abington drops to 2-5-4 on the season (2-1-3 NEAC). They will return to action next Saturday October 11, at 3:00 p.m. when they travel to New York to square off with the Keuka College Wolfpack. You can follow live game stats of the game right here on www.abingtonsports.com.
