Penn State Abington opened up the first set by breezing through comfortably to a 25-16 victory. After a brief lead of 9-8, the Nittany Lions went on a 16-8 run to close it out. The Scarlet Raptors would not go down without a fight as they tried to come back in the second set. However their effort fell short on a 25-22 defeat as to go down 2-0. As Abington attempted to close out the match in the third set, the Scarlet Raptors stormed through the set by taking advantage of Abington's errors for the 25-13 dismantle.
Given another endeavor to close out the match, Abington opened the fourth set to a comfortable 15-10 lead. However the Scarlet Raptors rallied back and eventually led briefly 19-18 on a successful block by junior middle hitter Sydney Allen (Magnolia, N.J.) against sophomore outside hitter
Rachel Bohl (Philadelphia, Pa.). From that turning point, the back and forth lead change eventually, favoring the Nittany Lions' side with a 25-23 decision for the set and match.
