Women's Soccer Downs St. Elizabeth, 9-0

Horsham, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's soccer team was victorious Wednesday night defeating the College of St. Elizabeth 9-0.
 
Elizabeth Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) would open the scoring for the Blue and White. She beat St. Elizabeth defender Bonalye Norelus one-on-one and rifled a shot past Screaming Eagles goalie Carla Martinez for the 1-0 lead.
 
Abington would get goals from Kayla Nolan (Abington, Pa.), Ashlee Kohn (Bensalem, Pa.) , and Elizabeth Jones during a two minute stretch to give Abington a 4-0 lead. Kohn's goal was her first of the season.  
 
The Nittany Lion offense would continue to roll as Gabriela Roldan (Vienna, Va.) and Mallory Mugnier (Glenside, Pa.) would pick up their first goals of the season in the 23rd and 26th minute respectively to give Abington a 6-0 lead.
 
Chelsea Baker (Philadelphia, Pa.) would score her first two goals of her collegiate career and Cindy Wade (Abington, Pa) would net her third goal of the season to make in 9-0 Abington after 45 minutes of play.
 
Neither team would score in the second half as the rain steadily fell all night. Abington outshot St. Elizabeth by a 24-1 margin. Megan Murphy (Warminster, Pa.), who started in net for Margaret Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.), picked up the shutout victory.
 
With the win, Abington improves to 11-4 on the year (10-1 NEAC). They will return to action this Sunday where they travel upstate to play Penn College in their final NEAC game of the regular season.
