Doylestown, Pa. - Penn State Abington's volleyball team dropped two contests Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by Delaware Valley College. The Nittany Lions (12-21) fell to host Delaware Valley College, 22-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-17 before losing a 25-15, 25-21, 23-25, 25-14 decision to Alvernia University.
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Blue and White in their opening match with 14 kills, 12 digs, and three service aces, while
Victoria Lohman (Frederick, Md.) came up with 31 digs.
Rachel Bohl (Philadelphia, Pa.) chipped in with 19 digs of her own.
Sam Nelson (Doylestown, Pa.) topped Abington with 29 assists.
In the second match, Bohl led Abington with 12 kills, while Lohman collected 21 digs for a combine total of 51 digs on the day. Bohl added 18 digs of her own, while
Maria Farrell (Philadelphia, Pa.) had 10 kills. Nelson once again led Abington with 37 assists.
Abington returns to action next Saturday as they travel west to participate in the Penn State Harrisburg tri-match. They play Southern Virginia University at 2:00 p.m., followed by host Penn State Harrisburg at 4:00 p.m.
