Madison, N.J. - The Penn State Abington men's basketball team opened up the 2014-15 season with a heartbreaking 73-71 loss to Rosemont College Saturday afternoon on the campus of Drew University.

Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.), sophomore guard
Eric Moody (Philadelphia, Pa.) and senior guard
Max Alton (Pennington, N.J.) all had 14 points to pace Abington. Moody led Abington in rebounds with six.
Abington (0-1, 0-0 NEAC) jumped out to an early 7-0 lead, before Rosemont went a 9-0 run of their own to take the early 9-7 lead. Both teams would exchange baskets repeatedly throughout the first half. The Nittany Lions would take a 36-32 lead into half.
After the break, both Rosemont and Abington would trade leads numerous times. The Ravens lead at one point swelled to as large as seven points.
Eric Moody's jumper with 42 seconds remaining pulled Abington to within two points, but the Nittany Lions couldn't pull through with the victory.
Abington shot 29-for-65 (44.6%) from the field, while Rosemont shot 29-for-78 (37.2%) from the field. Free throws would end up deciding the game as the Ravens converted five more free throws than Abington. The Blue and White were just 5-for-12 (41.7%) from the stripe, while Rosemont was 10-for-24 (41.7%) from the line.
The Nittany Lions will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, November 16th, as Abington will play Drew University in the consolation game of the Rose City Tip-Off Classic. Game is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
