Allentown, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's basketball endured their first loss of the season Sunday, as they were defeated by Lehman College, 76-65, in the championship game of the Hilton Garden Inn Tournament.
Abington (2-1, 0-0 NEAC) had a down day shooting the ball as they were only 30.6% from the field. They picked up 21 rebounds and shot only 35.7% from beyond the arc.
Abington played well in the first half and lead by as many as 10 points at one point. Lehman College went on 10-0 run to close out the first half. The score was 34-34 after 20 minutes.
After the break, Lehman would take control of the game down the stretch and come away with the 11 point victory. Lehman's Jennifer Navarro led all scorers with 21 points. The Lightning had four players who registered double-digits in points.
Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) shot 4 of 11 from the field in the game. In total, Elum registered 15 points and four rebounds to lead Abington for the game.
Elizabeth Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) was second among all Abington scorers with 14 points and six rebounds.
Stephanie Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) collected 13 points and four rebounds.
Abington will return to action next Sunday, November 30
th, as they return home to play Notre Dame of Maryland University. Tip-Off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
