Radnor, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's basketball team fell to Neumann University, 88-57, Sunday in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic hosted by Cabrini University.
Neumann jumped out to a 17 point lead just 11 minutes into the game. Neumann's lead would grow to as many as 29 points in the first half.
Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington with 15 points on 4-of-5 shooting in the first half. Jackson would finish the game with 22 points to lead Abington.
The Knights took a 51-27 lead into half.
Abington was just 7-for-19 (36.8%) from the field in the first half, while Neumann shot the ball at a 57.6% rate (19-for-33) for the first half.
Abington (0-4, 0-0 NEAC) shot just 17-for-56 (30.4%) from the field, while Neumann shot 31-for-63 (49.2%) from the field for the game. The Knights were 13-for-22 (59.1%) from three point land, while Abington was only 7-for-28 (25.0%) from beyond the arc.
The Knights were led by Tyreek Riddick's 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting, while DeShawn Lowman added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Abington returns to action next Saturday, December 6th, against Penn State Berks. Game is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
