BRYN ATYN – Sophomore
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded her sixth double-doubles of the season as the Penn State Abington women's volleyball team swept Bryn Athyn College, 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-14), Tuesday night.
Amaro finished with a team-high 13 kills to go with 15 digs, while
Cricket Lennon (Bethlehem, Pa.) posted her first career double-doubles with 21 assists and 10 kills on the night. Freshman middle blocker
Sophomore
Victoria Lohman (Frederick, Md.), who is ranked third in the nation in digs per set, added 25 more digs to her total as she posted an 8.33 average.
Tiffany Watson (Fort Washington, Md.) had a stellar night in front of the net as the middle blocker posted a match-high three solo blocks for the Blue and White.
Despite being winless in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, Bryn Athyn put a scare into Abington in each of the first two sets. Abington had to rally from two-point deficits mid-way through both frames before finally overtaking the Lions in the third set.
With the win, Abington is now 3-1 in conference play and 6-8 overall, while Bryn Athyn falls to 0-5 in the NEAC and 4-9 on the year.
The Blue and White will return to action on Friday as they travel to York, Pa. to participate in the Spartan Invitational, hosted by York College of Pennsylvania. Abington will take on the host at 5 p.m. before closing out the night with a match versus Albright College at 9 p.m.
