HORSHAM, Pa.- The Penn State Abington men's soccer were less than two minutes away from picking up their third victory of the season Tuesday night. Instead, they gave up a late heartbreaking goal and had to settle for a 1-1 tie against Lancaster Bible College.
Both Abington and Lancaster Bible had good chances to score in the first half, but goalkeepers
Dan Saint-Pol (Perkasie, Pa.) and Andrew Kolfstad came up large for the Nittany Lions and Chargers respectively.
Lancaster Bible outshot Penn State Abington 6-4 in the first 45 minutes of play.
Prior to the game, eight senior members of the Abington soccer team were recognized for their outstanding contributions during their collegiate careers.

Jose Giron (Philadelphia, Pa.),
Andre Lynahping (Kingston, Jamaica),
Nick Marques (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.),
Alex Martins (Philadelphia, Pa.),
Ludger Noel (Port-au-Prince, Haiti),
Dan Saint-Pol (Perkasie, Pa.) and
Guy Sikpa (Monrovia, Liberia) were all honored.
Abington would breakthrough on the scoresheet in the 65
th minute courtesy of
Alex Martins. Martins found himself one-on-one with Charger goalkeeper Andrew Kolfstad, and drilled the ball into the top right corner past Kolfstad to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead.
Unfortunately, Abington would relinquish the lead in the 88
th minute thanks to Lancaster's Spencer Lockard. Josiah Groff sent a corner kick into the box, which was headed into the net by Lockard to knot the game up at one. Â
Both teams had very few chances in the extra frames and the game ended in a one all draw. Lancaster Bible outshot Abington 13-9 for the game.
Alex Martins did pick up a yellow card in the 100
th minute.
With the tie, Abington's record now stands at 2-4-4 on the season (2-1-3 NEAC). They will return to action tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. when they hit the road to take on Penn State Harrisburg. You can follow live game stats and video of the game right here on www.abingtonsports.com.
