Women’s Basketball Rolls Past Keuka

Abington, Pa.- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team has now won seven straight games after their 71-43 victory over Keuka College Saturday afternoon.
 
The Lady Lions would struggle a bit in the first half, as Keuka came out hot shooting the ball. Abington would regain their form in the latter stages of the first half. The Lady Lions would have a 40-29 lead heading into the dressing rooms.

Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) shot 7-of-9 from the field in the first half. In total, Elum registered 17 points in the first half to lead all scorers. Stephanie Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) was second among all Abington players in the first half with 14 points.

After the break, Abington would go on a 13-0 run to open up the second half. A three-pointer from Keyes (Philadelphia, Pa.) at the 9:53 mark would give Abington a commanding 56-32 lead. The Lady Lions would pull away from the Wolfpack in the second half, holding Keuka to just 14 points total during the final 20 minutes of play.
 
Keyes would finish the game with a game-high 32 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Keyes was 7-of-9 from three-point range. Elum added 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting and added six rebounds.

Abington (9-1, 6-0 NEAC) shot 52.1% (25-for-48) from the field for the game. In total, the Blue and White picked up 27 rebounds and shot 70.0% from beyond the arc.
 
Abington will return to action next tomorrow as they host Wells College. Game time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
