ABINGTON, Pa - In a hotly contested game, Penn State Abington's men's basketball pushed Bryn Athyn into overtime, coming out on top 73-69 Sunday afternoon.

Abington improves to 6-9 with a 5-3 record in the NEAC, while Bryn Athyn drops to 4-10 overall and 4-3 in the conference.

Both sides were even on the floor with Abington slightly edging Bryn Athyn in shooting percentage, knocking down 48% from the field, while the Lions hit 45% of their shots. The Nittany Lions dominated at the line converting 8-of-12 free throws while Bryn Athyn could only hit 7-of-20.

Max Alton (Pennington, N.J.)  led Abington on the afternoon, sinking 7-of-16 with 20 points. Sophomore Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) also had a solid afternoon with 19 points, including five points in overtime that propelled the Nittany Lions for the win.

In the first half both teams battled with the lead changing hands, but the Lions surged ahead on a 19-10 run to end the half, up 29-26 over Abington.

Under seven minutes to go in the second half, Abington pulled in front of the Lions but neither side would back down, unable to break a deadlock at the end of the second half.

In overtime Jackson took control of the game, sinking a clutch three-point shot and pushed Abington to their sixth win of the season.
