Chambersburg, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's basketball continues to roll as they soundly defeated Wilson College, 83-30, Thursday afternoon.
Abington (6-1, 3-0 NEAC) shot 48.4% from the field for the day. They picked up 46 rebounds and shot 46.2 % from beyond the arc. Abington jumped out to an early 22-5 lead ten minutes into the game.
Wilson got into early foul trouble in the first half, and their offense couldn't establish a consistent attack due to numerous turnovers and poor shooting. Abington's offense was too much for the Phoenix in the first half as the Nittany Lions would take a 53-10 lead into dressing rooms.
Stephanie Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) was red hot shooting the ball in the first half as she was 6-of-10 from the field. In total, Keyes registered 19 points in the first half, including four three pointers on 4-of-6 shooting.
Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) was second among all Abington players in the first half with 11 points.
The second half was similar to the first half with Abington dominating in all facets of the game. Keyes led all scorers in the contest with 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting. She was 5–of-6 from beyond the arc.
Janaiah Elum tallied 16 points on the day on 6-of-10 shooting.
Jessica Schmidt (Elkins Park, Pa.) added 13 points and five rebounds, while
Mallory Mugnier (Glenside, Pa.) had eight points and four rebounds.
Abington will return to home this Saturday, January 10th, as they host Lancaster Bible College. Tip-Off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
