ABINGTON, Pa – The Penn State women's soccer team hosted rival Penn State Berks but were beat by the reigning NEAC champions 3-0, Thursday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions drop to 4-3 and 2-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference while Berks improves to 8-2-1 and a perfect 7-0 in conference.
Freshman keeper 
Samantha Friend (Philadelphia, Pa.) stopped five of Berks 14 shots in the rainy afternoon, while Abington hit eight shots with three falling on target.
Abington fought through the rain and wet field, but in the 42
nd minute Berks broke the deadlock with a shot from Dana Sarcinello outside the box that hit the crossbar and beat the keeper's hand.
The best chance for Abington came from a long shot from senior midfielder 
Desirae Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa.) that hit the post.
The Nittany Lions will travel up north to face off against SUNY Poly on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
