ABINGTON, Pa. – Sophomore
Emily Kennedy (Montgomeryville, Pa.) netted her eighth goal of the season as the Penn State Abington women's soccer team defeated Cazenovia College 2-0, Saturday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions improve to 7-4 on the season and 5-1 in the NEAC while Cazenovia falls to 4-7-1 and 3-4 in the conference.
Kennedy continued her strong season with a goal in the 7
th minute when
Victoria Parker (Philadelphia, Pa.) sent in a pass through the defense that the forward shot to the bottom right, past the keeper.
Freshman keeper
Samantha Friend (Philadelphia, Pa.) made a critical save in the second half when the Wildcats Erika Lewis-Ellison broke away from the defense but couldn't get past the diving goalkeeper.
Junior forward
Molly Wyman (Abington, Pa.) locked up the game in the 86
th minute for the Nittany Lions when Kennedy crossed a ball that was finished by Wyman just inside the left post.
The Nittany Lions will host Morrisville St. tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
