Two Goals from Kennedy Powers the Nittany Lions over Keuka, 3-0

ABINGTON, Pa – Two goals from Emily Kennedy (Montgomeryville, Pa.), and another from Mallory Mugnier (Glenside, Pa) gave the Penn State Abington women's soccer team a 3-0 win over Keuka College, Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Nittany Lions are in prime position for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament with a record of 10-4 and 8-1 in the NEAC. Keuka College remains in the hunt for the NEAC playoffs with a record of 8-7-2 and 7-3-1 in conference.

Mugnier's goal in the 9th minute brings her to the second most in program history with 24 for the senior forward.

Kennedy's brace came early in the second half, when Molly Wyman (Abington, Pa.) passed through the defense and the sophomore forward beat the keeper to the right post in the 63rd minute. Moments later in the 67th minute senior defender Ashley Quenzer (Philadelphia, Pa.) raced down the left flank and crossed the ball for Kennedy to slot in the right post for her 13th goal of the season.

After today, Kennedy moves into 4th place for single season goals behind Mugnier (14), Brittany Middleton (14) and Kayla Nolan (17).

The Nittany Lions look to continue their streak tomorrow as they host Wells College at 2:00 p.m.
