Women's Soccer Holds on Against Wells, 3-2

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team survived a rally from Wells College and came away with a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon.
 
After the win the Nittany Lions sit in second place in the NEAC standings with an 11-4 record overall and 9-1 in conference. Wells College drops to 6-12 and 5-6 in the NEAC.
 
Molly Wyman (Abington, Pa.) notched her 7th goal of the season in the 21st minute to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead. Later in the 27th minute Desirae Holmes (Philadelphia, Pa.) slotted another goal to give the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead.
 
Wells closed the gap right before the half in the 44th minute when Mackenzie Maloney scored her 9th goal of the season.

Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.)  knocked in her second goal of the season on a corner kick when she headed it to the back of the net to give the Nittany Lions room, up 3-1 in the 48th minute.
 
Maloney gave the Nittany Lions a scare when she added her 10th goal of the season in the 59th minute cutting the lead to 3-2.
 
The Nittany Lions will travel to the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday October 28, at 4:00 p.m.
