WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's basketball team opened their season at Kings College and fell to the Monarchs 84-65, on Friday night.
The Nittany Lions were led by senior guard
Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) with 20 points on the evening, hitting 4-of-8 of his shots from behind the arch. Sophomore guard
Spencer Bartron (Camden, Del.) chipped in 13 points and junior
Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) added 10 points.
Kings beat Abington off the boards scoring 32 of its 84 points in the paint while the Nittany Lions scored 24 points on the boards.
The Monarchs opened the game on an 8-2 run and never relinquished the lead going into the half up 40-26.Â
Abington played a strong second half as they hit 15-of-34 shots (44%) for 39 points but it wasn't enough to overcome the first half.
The Nittany Lions will continue their road trip when they travel to Cairn University on Wednesday November 18, at 8:00 p.m.
