ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team streaked to it's second win of the season after an 80-32 win over Cairn University, Monday night. Abington remains undefeated (2-0) after both games this season.

In the first period senior guard
Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) went off, scoring the games first 6 points on consecutive three-point shots, and freshman
Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, Pa.)Â followed with two shots from behind the arc. The Nittany Lions took a 12-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game and would finish the period up 22-7.

The Highlanders opened the second period trying to keep pace with the Nittany Lions on a 4-7 run favoring Abington. Abington's defense would shut down the Highlanders over the final five minutes. Elum heated up again as she led the Nittany Lions to their next seven point run, and was followed up again with two three-point shots from Rodriguez. Abington held a 46-14 advantage at the half.

The Nittany Lions opened the third period on a 12-3 run and didn't allow a single point in the final four and a half minutes of play, as they held a 63-17 lead going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth period, the Highlanders were competitive, as they opened on a 7-5 run in the first three minutes, but Abington gained momentum on a shot from downtown by freshman
Samantha Friend (Philadelphia, Pa.)Â and opened the 12-8 run that finished off the Highlanders.

The Nittany Lions shot an impressive 48% from behind the arc, and matched it on the field as they shot 31-of-65 (47.%).

Four Nittany Lions tallied double figures in scoring as Elum finished with 27 points,Â
Elizabeth Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.)Â recorded 18 points, Rodriguez collected 16 points and
Madison Kimball (Jenkintown, Pa.) earned a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Nittany Lions will return to action Sunday November 29, when they travel to Notre Dame University of Maryland for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.Â
