MORRISVILLE, NY - The Abington women's basketball team notched its fourth straight win behind stand out performances from
Janaiah Elum and
Stephanie Keyes as they topped Morrisville St. 68-55, Sunday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions remain in the hunt for the NEAC playoffs as they improved to 17-4 overall and 14-3 in the NEAC. The Mustangs dip to 16-7 and 12-4 in the NEAC.
Elum (Philadelphia, Pa) and Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) contributed 53 points (78%) between the two of them. Elum led Abington with 28 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Keyes was just as dominate on the floor adding 25 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Abington's success behind the arc was the difference between both teams with the Nittany Lions converting 46% of their three-pointers on 13-of-28 shots. Defensively Abington created trouble for the Mustangs on the floor, holding them to 18% behind the arc.
Next Abington will return home Wednesday night as they face off against Wilson College at 6:00 PM.
