Abington Finish Season with a Win, 66-53

Morristown, NJ – Abington women's basketball team wrapped up their season with a 66-53 win over College of St. Elizabeth to end their 2014-2015 regular season on a high note.

The women finish 19-5 for the season and 16-4 in the NEAC, their best finish since joining the NEAC.

With the win Abington will host their first playoff game since joining the NEAC and since Abington was made a full member of NCAA Division III.

Stephanie Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa) tallied 21 points and scooped up nine rebounds, while sophomore forward Breanna Lineman (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

In the first half Abington got off to a slow start, as they trailed the Eagles by as many as nine points at the 13 minute mark.  Abington stormed back behind a strong inside presence from Jessica Schmidt. A 11-5 run in the final three minutes of the contest gave Abington a 38-32 lead going into the break.

The second half belonged to the Nittany Lions, as they dominated the boards grabbing 25 rebounds to the Eagles 16.

The Eagles held the advantage shooting from the floor, but the Nittany Lions countered as they put up 32 points in the paint and forced 17 turnovers.

Abington will host their first playoff game since joining the NEAC as they face Gallaudet at home Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
