ABINGTON, Pa - In a midweek battle, the Abington baseball team faltered in its home opener, as they lost to Ursinus College 8-1.

The Nittany Lions plated their only run in the third inning off a two out single from Max German (Newtown, Pa.) that drove in the runner from second.

Freshman leadoff hitter Pat Fitzgerald (Warrington, Pa.), led Abington going 3-for-4 with three singles, two stolen bases, and scoring the only run for the Nittany Lions.

Next Abington will return to the diamond on Saturday, as they take on SUNY Canton at 12:00 p.m.
