ABINGTON, Pa – The Abington baseball team remained undefeated in the North Eastern Athletic Conference as they took two games from Keuka College Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions rallied late in both games edging the Wolfpack in game one 6-5, and 8-6 in game two.

Abington improves to 7-13 overall and stays atop the NEAC at 4-0.
Fran Caruso (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington going 5-6 for the day with two runs and two RBIs.

Keuka opened game one with five runs in the first two innings, off eight hits and where aided by three errors.

Freshman
Pat Fitzgerald (Warrington, Pa.) had a double down the right field line to knock in Abington's first run of the afternoon.Â
Max German (Newtown, Pa.) added another on a groundout to the shortstop that allowed the runner on third to score.

Abington chipped in another run on a Caruso single that made it 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth.

Fitzgerald added to the total on an RBI single right through the infield in the bottom of the sixth inning.

In the bottom of the eighth with two outs, Abington rallied to take the lead. First on a throwing error by the catcher, then
Ted Smallwood (Athens, N.Y.) scored the winning run on a Fitzgerald single to center field.

Matt McDonough (Abington, Pa) pitched a complete game, not allowing a single run after the second inning through nine innings.Â

In game two, both sides were aided early by errors with Abington holding a slight 2-1 lead after the first inning.

Trey Guaglionona (Abington, Pa.) drove in another run in the fourth inning with a double down the right field line. Caruso finished off the scoring for the inning with a sacrifice fly deep to center field, giving the Nittany Lions a 4-1 lead.

Keuka stormed back to pull ahead during the next inning with four runs on four hits, on top 5-4.

Anthony Pletscher (Hatfield, Pa.) sparked the comeback with an RBI single to left field, driving in the first run of the inning. With one out,
Brandon Mau (Philadelphia, Pa.) sliced a double to score two runs, giving Abington a 7-5 lead.Â
Mike Scaringelli (Bordentown, N.J.) finished the inning with an RBI single to right field.

In the top of the seventh
Diego Melendez (Camden, N.J.) got out a jam on a 4-6-3 double play that helped him get his third win of the season.

Abington continues conference play tomorrow afternoon as they host Penn College at 12:00 p.m.
