Women’s Lacrosse Victorious Over Lancaster Bible, 19-6

Abington, Pa.- Katelyn Haas (Lower Moreland, Pa.) scored a game-high six goals and fellow teammate Jessica Watts (Abington, Pa.) posted four goals, as Penn State Abington beat Lancaster Bible, 19-6, Friday afternoon at Memorial Field.
 
Goalkeeper Corey Pecuch (Willow Grove, Pa.) made seven saves while allowing six goals for Abington.
 
Watts would get Abington on the board just 1:02 into the game, as Abington won the opening draw control and took the ball the length of the field for the goal.
 
The Nittany Lions would get another goal from Watts, and a goal from Katelyn Haas before the Chargers managed to tally their first goal at 21:43 of the first half.
 
Watts, Haas, Katelyn Kelly (Springfield, Pa.), Chasidy McLaurin (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Breanne Kradzinski (Philadelphia, Pa.) would all score goals to extend Abington's lead to 9-5 at the break with Kradzinski scoring twice in the first half.
 
After the break, Abington would tally seven straight goals to take a 16-5 lead including two more goals from Katelyn Haas. Kelly and McLaurin each recorded hat tricks in the game. Kate Schlack (Warminster, Pa.) added two goals of her own.
 
The Blue and White outshot the Chargers 43-15 for the game. Abington held the groundball advantage 16-10.
 
Alyssa Wesner led Lancaster Bible with three goals. She now leads the NEAC in scoring with 54 goals in 13 games played.
 
Abington (4-5, 3-2 NEAC) will return to action this Sunday, April 19, as they will be celebrating Senior Day against Bryn Athyn College. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Field.
