Abington, Pa.- The Penn State Abington softball team won a pair of non-conference games Thursday afternoon against the Delaware Valley University Aggies.
Abington took game one 11-0 in five innings, and took game two 11-2 in five innings.
Michaela Drogalis (Croydon, Pa.) was phenomenal in the pitching circle for the Nittany Lions. Drogalis was throwing a perfect game before Del-Val's Ashley Rice singled in the top of the fifth inning to break up perfection.
Overall, Drogalis gave up just one hit over five innings of work while striking out nine. She picked up her seventh win of the season.
Breanna Lineman (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a terrific game one for the Nittany Lions as she went 2-for-2 with four RBI's. Lineman smacked a two-run homerun to centerfield in the bottom of the third inning giving Abington an 11-0 lead.
Between games one and two, the Abington softball program honored their lone graduating senior in
Sheila O'Hagan (Willow Grove, Pa.).
O'Hagan holds numerous program records at Abington. She's the all-time leader in home runs with 32, the all-time hit leader with 142, the most doubles with 29, the most triples with 7, the most RBI's with 120, and the most games played with 121.
She also holds the most stolen bases, slugging percentage, and on base percentage records.
In game two, Abington would jump out to a 6-0 lead after two innings, as
Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.) had a three-run homerun in the bottom of the second inning.
Not to be outdone,
Breanna Lineman hit her second homerun of the day, this time a three-run shot, in the bottom of the fourth inning to give Abington a 9-1 lead. Overall Lineman was 4-for-5 on the day with seven RBI's and two homeruns.
Jennifer Rakita (Langhorne, Pa.) picked up her fourth victory of the year scattering seven hits over five innings of work.
Abington (16-9-1, 10-4 NEAC) will return to action this Saturday, April 24, as they travel to Chambersburg, Pa. for a crucial conference matchup against the Wilson College Phoenix. Game one is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. while game two is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
