ABINGTON, Pa – The Abington softball team finished its season with two close losses to Lancaster Bible, dropping game one 6-4 and game two 7-6, Tuesday afternoon.
Whitney DeLagol (Warminster, Pa.) led Abington going 4-for-9 with three runs and two RBI's in the series.
The Chargers held a 4-1 lead in game one, but a three run sixth inning gave the Nittany Lions hope for the win, tied 4-4. Two runs in the top of the seventh for LBC were too much for Abington to overcome.
In game two Abington jumped out to an early lead in the first inning with RBI singles from DeLagol and
Breanna Lineman (Philadelphia, Pa.). The Nittany Lions tacked on three more runs in the third to give Abington a 5-1 lead. Holding a 6-4 lead going into the seventh, the Nittany Lions couldn't keep the lead. A three run rally in the top of the seventh gave the chargers their tenth win in conference.
Abington will travel to NEAC Tournament host Penn State Berks, as they get ready to face a NEAC North Division opponent that will be announced later by the conference.
