ABINGTON, Pa – On a rainy Saturday afternoon, the Penn State Abington men's soccer team (2-2) fell to Immaculata (1-3) on the game winning penalty kick in the 86
th minute.
The Nittany Lions dominated the attack put struggled to convert their chances hitting 11 shots but only three on goal. Defensively Abington held the Mighty Macs to only three shots on the afternoon.
In the first half the Nittany Lions best chance came from a
William Kyei (Philadelphia, Pa.)shot from outside the box that rattled the crossbar and went out harmlessly for a goal kick.
Neither team could create many chances but in the 86
th minute a hard challenge in the box led to penalty kick converted by Alex Noel.
Abington returns to the field to open NEAC play against Bryn Athyn Saturday September 19, at 2:00 p.m.
