ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team (4-4) hosted its first tri-match of the season and came away with a 3-0 loss to Goucher College (4-5) and a 3-1 win over Summit University (1-8) 3-0, Saturday afternoon.
In the first match Abington went 22-25, 19-25, and 22-25 to Goucher while in its second match the Nittany Lions won 19-25, 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18.
Freshman
Maddi Richard (Warminster, Pa.) vaulted into third all-time individual game records for nine service aces against Summit. Sophomore
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington with 20 kills and 22 digs in both matches. Sophomore
Corey Pecuch (Newtown, Pa.) made 29 assists between the two contests. Â
The Nittany Lions return to the court Thursday September 17, to face Rosemont at 7:00 p.m.
