MORRISVILLE, NY – The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team fell behind in the first two sets, but a stellar third set from
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia Pa.) kept the team's hopes alive with a 25-19 win. The comeback would fall short with a loss in the fourth set on Sunday afternoon.
Abington drops to 5-7 and remain winless in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) as they fall to 0-3. Morrisville St. improves to 5-9 and 2-1 in conference.
Amaro led the Nittany Lions with 22 kills and 10 digs, while freshman
Maddi Richards (Warminster, Pa.) stood out defensively with 22 digs.
Danielle Dyjak (Abington, Pa.) racked up 18 assists in the match.
The Nittany Lions will look to rebound when they face off against the College of St. Elizabeth hosted at Bryn Athyn on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
