BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – Searching for its first conference win of the season, the Penn State Abington volleyball team battled the College of St. Elizabeth but fell to the Eagles 3-2, Friday night.

The Nittany Lions fall to 5-8 on the season and 0-4 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Nittany Lions with 16 kills  and five service aces.

Abington took the first set 25-16, but St. Elizabeth responded with a 16-25 win over the Nittany Lions to even the score at 1-1. The Nittany Lions won the next round 25-21, but again the Eagles answered with a 20-25 win. In the fifth and final St. Elizabeth broke the stalemate with a 15-6 win.

The Nittany Lions will continue NEAC pool play tomorrow when they face Bryn Athyn and Gallaudet at 11:00 am and 2:00 p.m. respectively. Â
