ABINGTON, Pa. - After a disappointing loss earlier in the week, the Penn State Abington men's soccer team rebounded with a dominate 3-1 win over Delaware Valley University, Thursday evening. The Nittany Lions improve to 1-1 after the victory.
Junior winger
Richard Domico (Langhorne, Pa.) continued his impressive start as he recorded his second goal of the season and added an assist to his score line.
In the 20
th minute, Domico slotted a goal past the keeper from the right post to give the Nittany Lions an early lead. Minutes later, Abington won a corner kick taken by
Chris Van Pelt (Doylestown, Pa.). The ball slipped through to the far post where it was finished by the full back
Diego Caban (Puerto Rico) for his first goal of the season.
The Aggies would get on the board in the final minute of the first half on a goal from Nick Miller, to cut the Nittany Lions lead, 2-1.
Abington came close to another goal in the second half when Domico crossed a ball straight to the foot of
Pablo Zalduondo (Puerto Rico) but the freshman forward skied it over the open goal. Zaldoundo would make up for the missed opportunity with a great finish from Domico's chipped pass, giving the Nittany Lions a 3-1 win.
The Nittany Lions will return to the field to host Rosemont College Tuesday September 8, at 4:00 p.m.
