ABINGTON, Pa. – In the rain
Dmitri Bourlako (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) headed home his third goal of the season, but the Penn State Abington men's soccer team fell to Penn State Berks in two overtime periods 2-1, Wednesday afternoon.
Abington suffer its first conference loss of the season and fall to 5-3 and 2-1 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Berks improves to 4-5-1 and 2-3 in the conference.
Freshman keeper
Jose Arroyo (Puerto Rico) made six saves, including a dangerous breakaway that he cut off in the box.
Bourlako opened the scoresheet with a header that was chipped in by
Kennedy Betts (Warrington,Pa.) giving Abington the 1-0 lead in the first half.
In the second half, Joe Budnovitch for Berks equalized on a cross from the left wing with a shot to the bottom right hand corner past the keeper. Early in the second overtime Berks came away with the win with a goal from Omar Guzman.
The Nittany Lions will look to rebound when they travel to SUNY Poly in Utica NY, at 12:00 p.m.
