Men's Basketball Tops Penn College 87-82

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team notched its third win of the season with an 87-82 victory over Penn College, Wednesday night.

The Nittany Lions improve to 3-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference and move into third in the South Division standings, while Penn College Falls to 2-5 in conference.

In the fast paced first half, Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) netted five points in the opening minutes to aid Abington on a 7-2 run, but the Wildcats would answer and tie the game at the 15 minute mark.

The Lead changed hands nine times before Abington would edge to a slim lead behind layups from Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.).

With eight minutes remaining in the game Abington went on a 15-9 run to give them a 10 point advantage at the half.
The Wildcats clawed their way back in the second half and came within three points after getting three consecutive layups with 11 minutes remaining in the half.

Penn College came within striking distance in the final five minutes but a shot from downtown by Yusef Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) helped to cushion Abington's lead with minutes remaining.

The Nittany Lions were led by their upperclassman trio with Jackson leading the way with 24 points. Savage and Jones followed in scoring with 19 points each.

Abington will go on the road to New York when they face Keuka College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
