KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - Â Sophomore Elizabeth Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) Â hit a career high 25 points as the Penn State Abington Women's Basketball Team recorded their eighth win of the season with a 62-53 win over Keuka, Saturday afternoon.

Abington improves to 4-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference, while Keuka drops to 1-5 for the season.

In the first quarter the Nittany Lions struggled  with shooting, as they missed four straight shots for the offense.  The Nittany Lions could only muster five points in the first six minutes of play. Jones ended the scoring drought when she hit her shot from behind the arc.

After the break, both teams opened the second period with sloppy play, Â as both teams recorded nine combined turnovers in the first three minutes. Â The offense exploded with eight points over the next minute to give the Nittany Lions their first lead of the game.

The Wolfpack subbed out their entire team but the change couldn't stop the Nittany Lions, as they scored on their next five possessions giving them a 27-21 lead. Â In the final minutes, Abington closed out the quarter with a 7-4 run.

Jones gave the Nittany Lions a double-digit lead when she hit her shot from behind the arc with 8:15 on the clock in the third period. Abington held its lead for the entire quarter but Keuka brought the game within seven after five straight points to end the quarter.

Keuka inched within three points in the fourth quarter, but Jones answered with another three-point shot. With four minutes on the clock, Keuka came back within two points of Abington's lead, but were unable to overcome the free-throw shooting of the Nittany Lions.
Abington will look to continue its streak tomorrow when they face off against Wells College at 2:00 p.m.
