WASHINGTON, DC - Senior Yusef Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded a double-double for the Penn State Abington men's basketball team but it wasn't enough to overcome Gallaudet, as they fell 88-69 Wednesday evening.

Abington falls to 3-12 overall and 3-5 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

In the first half Gallaudet jumped out to a 24-14 lead, but a shot from behind the arc from Spencer Bartron (Camden, Del.) spurred a 10-4 run. The Nittany Lions took the lead with three minutes remaining in the half off a shot from Nick Heuser (Philadelphia, Pa.) behind the three-point line, to lead the Bison 34-33. A layup from senior Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa.) with four seconds remaining, tied the game going into the break.

The Bison opened the second half with the hot hand on a 16-3 run in the first four minutes of play. Abington came within six points off a layup from junior guard Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) but the Nittany Lions couldn't pull closer in the second half.

Jones led Abington with 19 points for the evening and Bartron followed with 18 points going 6-of-9 from downtown. Â Defensively Savage scooped 12 rebounds and chipped in 16 points.
The Nittany Lions will continue on the road when they travel to Bryn Athyn on Saturday January 30, at 1:00 p.m.
