LANCASTER, Pa. - The Penn State Abington men's basketball team traveled to NEAC leader, Lancaster Bible College, but couldn't come away with the win. They fell 108-60 on Saturday afternoon.
The Nittany Lions dropped to 2-9 overall and 2-2 in conference, while the Chargers stay undefeated at 10-0 and 4-0 in the NEAC.
In the first half, the Nittany Lions kept the game close with
Yusef Savage (Philadelphia, Pa.) draining a three-point shot, but the Nittany Lions trailed 10-11 at the 15:19 mark.
The Chargers stole momentum, as they went on a 16-5 run over the next 3 minutes.
With eight minutes left in the half LBC held a commanding 41-21 lead, but Abington's offense got back on track with
Devin Jones' (Philadelphia, Pa.) shot from behind the arc. The Nittany Lions kept pace in the final minutes of the half, but were outscored 27-23.
Lancaster Bible's defense clamped down on Abington and held them to their lowest second half points of the season - only allowing 16 over the final 20 minutes.
Savage led the Nittany Lions with 19 points, while
Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) chipped in 17 and Jones added 11 points. Between the three upperclassman, they accounted for 47-of- 60 points for Abington.
The Nittany Lions will look to rebound when they host Penn College on Wednesday January 13, at 6:00 p.m.
