Nittany Lions fall to CSE, 72-56

MORRISTOWN, NJ – Junior guard Brittany Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) hit a season high 16 points, but it wasn't enough to get the Nittany Lions over the top. The College of Saint Elizabeth posted a 72-56 win over Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 3-2 and 1-1 in the conference after the loss.

Sophomore Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the game.

A shot from behind the arc by Symantha Marrero (Philadelphia, Pa.) gave the Nittany Lions their biggest lead of the game with a 15-8 advantage in the first quarter. The Eagles shifted momentum with an 8-3 run to end the period.

The Nittany Lions held their slim margin for the entire second quarter until Jasmine pool sunk a layup to give the Eagles a 35-33 lead into the break.

In the third quarter the College of Saint Elizabeth held the lead until Marrero drove through the lane for a layup to give the Nittany Lions a 44-43 lead. A huge fourth quarter the Eagles put away the Nittany Lions.

Abington will look to rebound tomorrow when they host Penn College at noon.
